Sail on Sailor

Deckhands - part time & fixed term positions

360 Discovery offers a range of cruises in the Hauraki Gulf for both tourists and locals keen to get out and about.

360 prides itself on delivering the very best experience to our customers. Our services are operated by a small fleet of well-maintained modern high-speed catamarans.

Your role is key in ensuring our customers are comfortable and well looked after while onboard with us.

Duties include but are not limited to:
• Rope work & ensuring boat safety is adhered too
• Customer Service
• Bar & Cafe work
• Cleaning of the vessels
• Following the instructions of your Master
It seems like a nice job, right up until that last duty, when it all turns creepy and weird and it makes you wonder what they mean by rope work.

Wel, 360 Discovery has some pretty boys manning the ropes and obeying the master's orders from the wheelhouse. The trip to Coromandel is vaut le voyage.

The thing that is interesting about Maritime Law, as I understand it, is that the captain of any vessel is allowed to carry a gun, and can shoot a crew member for mutiny. Perhaps that's only in international waters. Maybe I'm wrong about that, but I don't like going on boats.
