Thanks for alerting us to this. I have to admit to no great liking for the edgelands. But it's good to see their importance recognised because it gives us a more complete ubderstanding of the world we're constructing. With that understanding might come better planning, and the like.

Thanks Pete. I am pondering whether we have edgelands in NZ, or whether it is a phenomenon of more industrial countries. I think I should go looking for them and write a book about what I find.
