And that is the most galling thing for intellectuals who abhor her. Intellectuals find normal people offensive. Intellectuals spend ages trying to learn about culture and making themselves read boring books and struggling to show they are better than other people. Imagine how miffed they are to see those blithe, dumb ordinary types who seem quite happy doing normal stuff like having sex and putting on lip gloss.Oh no Hill Cone. Does this mean we have to watch them having sex?

Some intellectuals rather enjoy sex. Bertrand Russell seemed to enjoy a spot of nookie. So did Bernard Shaw. And DH Lawrence. And Cyril Conolly. And Graham Greene. And Evelyn Waugh. And Denis Potter. And plenty of others.
I'm pleased for her sake that DHC likes being average, though. Probably a rather lucky thing, really.
