Particularly with the dancer, and with the racing cars.

Quite reasonably priced, these Warehouse artworks, and they appealingly juxtapose a knowing pop-culture 'opportunity shop' aesthetic with the contrasting frisson of modern Chinese post-Warholian mass production craft, a playful combination which frankly I find rather invigorating.

Sure to be real conversation pieces in years to come, and a solid investment for starting buyers in the evergreen "need to cover that hole in the plaster at all costs" market.Samuelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12633616551506978330noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36994129.post-57225467765259668352010-06-09T08:53:16.629+12:002010-06-09T08:53:16.629+12:00Was probably his Ed Hillary wankfest that won it f...Was probably his Ed Hillary wankfest that won it for him, even though he managed to make the old geezer look like a Fraggle.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36994129.post-16937153825256038942010-06-09T08:40:46.238+12:002010-06-09T08:40:46.238+12:00A QSM medal for that kind of "work"??A QSM medal for that kind of "work"??Christophernoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36994129.post-49749034740642690032010-06-09T03:25:58.239+12:002010-06-09T03:25:58.239+12:00Oh boy that first one The Horsemen was awful. I could copy that with a photo throwing all my orange filters stacked together in front of the lens then taking the result into Photoshop racking up the contrast and doing some over the top edge detection, oh and supersaturating the colour some more. Done.

As you say, subtle it ain't. But the Americans like that stuff. Look up Thomas Kincade sometime, when your stomach is feeling strong that is.
