Don't let's be beastly to the Muslims

David Farrar comments on an Atheist being kicked off YouTube for posting a video that pointed out logical defects in the Koran, although similar posts about Christianity were considered harmless.

Elsewhere, Sign and Sight is hosting an intellectual stoush: Pascal Bruckner, Ian Buruma, Timothy Garton Ash, Necla Kelek and Paul Cliteur (no relation) fight about multiculturalism.

Will there be any progress on the Muslim clerics issue before some brave government is prepared to say that Religions should not only be protected by Human Rights legislation, but should also comply. i.e. the old freedom and responsibility approach.

I suppose it would mean that churches would have to provide equal employment opportunities to marrieds and singles, gays and hetero's etc.

At the same time though, the Wainuiomata Christian School might be further discouraged from beating the urchins who are enrolled there.
