A new Government bill paves the way for paedophiles to be put in charge of children, Labour education spokesman Trevor Mallard says.Proof, if it were needed, that you couldn't make Anne Tolley up.
But Education Minister Anne Tolley calls his accusations "hysterical".
She says the Education Amendment Bill (No 2) only gives some childcare centres the same status as Sunday School or Scouts.

Regretfully, I think I have to agree with Anne Tolley on this one. Which are not words I ever thought I'd type. Labelling the change a child abuser's charter seems fairly hysterical to me. And it's not as if that nice, gentle Mr Mallard is an entirely sympathetic figure on ethical matters.
