Fundies get angsty about liberal bloggers being mean to the memory of Jerry Falwell.
In the words of the Policy Director of the Concerned Women of America, "what we are seeing now is systematically a pattern of secular humanism."
Note that the Policy Director of the Concerned Women of America is a man. Policy obviously is not women's work; either that or the Concerned Women have an equal opportunities employment policy.

I get confused by the notion that it is ill mannered to be critical of the recently deceased. How do manners come into play when evaluating the life and work of a public figure?
Also, Concerned Women of America would be a great name for a band. The inner circle of fans could call them C-Woa.
The most interesting commentary I have come across is this one (http://scienceblogs.com/pharyngula/2007/05/hitchens_on_falwell.php) by Christopher Hitchens - via Pharyngula
oops - the last comment truncated the link. It should finish "05/hitchens_on_falwell.php"
Other antifeminist "womens" groups have also had gender identity crises. Women for Life here had to change its name when it found out most of its members were male, and so did Women Who Want to be Women in Oz, Who Weren't.

Perhaps Connie Purdue and Marilyn Pryor will invite Jerry to afternoon tea...
Don't give the fundies ideas. Next thing they'll be campaigning for the rights of the undead in order to resurrect their political chances...

What the world needs is Rapture Rights: we can assume the dead held traditional values when they were alive; they are coming back soon; so we must make policy that reflects their views.
Still no. I'm sorry, what if they decide that zombies are people too. It's not their fault that they're dependent on cannibalism for survival, why, they even have human genetic codes and are of (roughly) more or less human appearance.
It's not worth the risk. And anyhow, given that George W Bush is completely braindead, yet manages to be horribly devastating nonetheless, think of what a multitude of such creatures would do...

Unfortunately, Jerry planned well for his mortal demise. His Liberty “university” is churning out zombies by the thousand. What else can you call indoctrinated students whose tribute to their founder was to chant: “Jerry! Jerry! Jerry!” while massed on the football field. I hope SouthPark capture that scene when they do an episode on Jerry.
Newt! He has returned from the grave. And now he is complaining about secularism... whatever next?
Ah, the United States- where an amphibian could be elected Speaker of the House of Representatives.
And given he's an amphibian, Gingrich probably just hibernated...

Meanwhile, back in godzone Judy Turner, "United Future" MP won the irony prize for today when SHE said:
"Men need an advocate in Government as well as women."

What was the irony there? That she belongs to the "United" Future Party, or that she longs for the days when Mad Moo Newman was ACT spokesMan for the male backlash lobby?
